Biodegradable waste
Dřímal, Jiří ; Niesner, Jakub (referee) ; Beňo, Zdeněk (advisor)
The goal of this bachelor is introduction with the issue of using biodegradable waste (BDW) in the EU. The introductory chapters are focused on the description of the different types of BDW. There are described ways of processing of this waste and their use. The emphasis is on mapping the current condition of treatment of biodegradable waste with it in the EU and the CR.
Legislature of the waste disposal and utilization of biodegradable materials
Pešl, Milan ; Pěček, Jan (referee) ; Beňo, Zdeněk (advisor)
The aim of this work is to give information about the issue of legislation of disposal and reuse of biodegradable waste. Legislation in the field of bio-waste in the Czech Republic and the EU is grouped into various laws and guidelines which describe particular conditions of the dumping of wastes, their subsequent processing and reuse. In this work, the definition of BDW, its composition and the current state of dealing with this type of waste in the EU and the Czech Republic is mentioned. Different methods of processing biodegradable waste, which include incineration, composting and anaerobic digestion, their advantages and disadvantages are described in this work. There are also introduced examples of BDW in the EU and the Czech Republic there.
Life cycle assessment of municipal waste
Vlach, Josef ; Slavík, Jan (referee) ; Jícha, Jaroslav (advisor)
The aim of this study is to present methodology life cycle (LCA) and Life Cycle Assessment of disposal the municipal solid waste chain. There is described the procedure of generation of the LCA studies according to the standards ČSN EN ISO 14 040 and ČSN EN ISO 14 044 in the first and second part. In the third part of this diploma there are described LCA analyses that have already been created. The software GEMIS (Global Emission Model for Integrated System) is described in the fourth part. The computer model GEMIS has been used as a calculation tool in this study. The fifth part of this study includes waste management and different kinds of disposal municipal solid waste. In this part is describe basic data about landfilling and incieration. There is shown LCA analysis of disposal municipial solid waste in the sixth part. Data processing was carried out by means of the software GEMIS 4.3. The results were interpreted for incineration and landfilling. Finally there is mentioned results for 1 TJ different elektrical energize to.
Waste management system sustainability
Bravený, Adam ; Touš, Michal (referee) ; Pavlas, Martin (advisor)
The thesis proposes a new approach to assess sustainability of waste management systems. In the first part current mixed municipal waste (MSW) management system of the Czech republic is reviewed and promising MSW treatment techniques are introduced. In the second part a summary of literature on Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) approach to assess sustainability of MSW systems is provided. A new sustainability assessment model is proposed by implementing LCA to a current tool called NERUDA used to optimize waste management costing. It is demonstrated how to connect these two concepts in order to aquire a powerful tool for sustainability assessment.
Sustainable management of municipal waste
Širůček, Vojtěch ; Niesner, Jakub (referee) ; Klimek, Petr (advisor)
The bachelor’s thesis is focused on the issue of disposal of biodegradable municipal waste management. The thesis asseses the current situation and possible ways of management with this kind of waste. Emphasis is placed on efficient utilization. Aim is to design of possible solution to eliminate landfilling of municipal waste in the Czech republic in accordance with legal demands of the European Union.
Skládka jako centrum komplexního zpracování komunálního odpadu
Kubišová, Denisa
The bachelor’s thesis „Landfill as a centre of complex municipal waste processing” is focused on description and characteristic of the municipal waste land-filling and the waste management in general. Furthermore, a landfill and its place in circular economy are described. An analysis of waste production in the Czech Republic and its comparison to the other European countries follows. Eventually the thesis deals with the legislation and its latest actualizations. In the next part of the thesis landfill in Němčice nad Hanou is selected a for more precise and detailed description of its management, construction, waste processing, closing and recultivation.
Legislation of waste management
Kalinová, Gabriela ; Sobotka, Michal (advisor) ; Fabšíková, Tereza (referee)
Legislation of waste management Abstract This thesis deals with the legal regulation of municipal waste management in the Czech Republic. The aim of the thesis is to analyze the changes related to the adoption of new legislation related to waste management and to assess whether the available instruments are sufficient to achieve the objectives set by both national and EU legislation. The thesis is devoted to presenting the state of waste management with an emphasis on municipal waste in the Czech Republic using available data. Furthermore, the thesis focuses on the sources of legislation, with an emphasis on EU legislation and on the legislation that was the basis for the currently applicable legislation. It also includes definitions of basic terms and individual entities, which may include the waste producer, facility operator, waste dealer, or waste broker. The main part of the work is devoted to the position of the municipality and its relationship with natural persons, legal entities, and waste collection companies. It also addresses the methods of municipal waste management that are heavily used in the Czech Republic, which include recycling and landfilling. The assessment of the sufficiency of the available instruments is based on an analysis of legislation, general binding municipal ordinances...
Methods of energy treatment of municipal waste
Štork, Martin ; Köbölová, Klaudia (referee) ; Linda, Jakub (advisor)
The bachelor's thesis deals with the topic of how to deal with waste in order to obtain as much energy as possible from it. That's why we are dealing with restrictions on landfilling. In the theoretical part of the thesis, we will find the types of waste and their characteristics, as well as the ways in which waste can be worked. In the practical part of the thesis, I try to show how waste could be worked in the future, ideally for a large yield of energy and with minimal air pollution during waste processing. This results in a complete restriction of landfilling.
The influence of energy mix on environmental impacts of waste management
Dočekalová, Veronika ; Kočí, Vladimír (advisor) ; Trecáková, Tatiana (referee)
This paper presents energy mix of Czech Republic and its effects on environmental impacts of waste management. Three technologies: landfilling without energy recovery and landfilling and incineration with energy recovery are assessed using LCA. Results for 1 t of mixed municipal waste are compared in 9 impact categories: abiotic depletion, acidification, eutrophication, global warming, ozone layer depletion, photochemical ozone creation, human toxicity, terrestrial ecotoxicity, freshwater ecotoxicity. Landfilling without energy recovery was evaluated as the most harmful technology to the environment, incineration as the most environmentally-friendly one. The use of Czech energy mix made impacts of the energy recovery technologies look lower, contrary to burdens of landfill without energy recovery that resulted higher. The influence of energy mix composition change is discussed further.
Recyklace odpadu v některých městech jižních Čech
ŠULISTA, Daniel
This master´s thesis discusses waste recycling in selected towns in the South Bohemia region. The first part explains the concepts of waste, landfilling, recycling and waste treatment. In the second part of the thesis selected areas of South Bohemia suitable for elaboration are listed. Data collected for individual commodities (electrical appliances, metals, paper, plastics, glass and textile materials) are listed in the tables and subsequently represented in a graphical way. These charts illustrate how citizens in each area recycle or not recycle their waste. In the conclusion of the thesis is presented the amount of waste per capita for the given area and a comparison with the other areas. Afterwards, measures are proposed to improve waste recycling.
